kevin s OK I'm 4 episodes deep; but deep enough to confidently say: in a world of lazy cliché ridden copy- cat content replying on fast pace & twists to keep you from turning off; 'The Old Man' is as welcome to the usual FBI manhunt thriller formula as 'Game Of Thrones' was to, well, everything. Half a star deducted for mild holes in the plot, and yes, Zoe's character is a bit painful at times. With a life that dull I'm surprised she wasn't chuffed to bits for some spice & danger! 4.5 stars easily earned for respecting the audiences intelligence, allowing NOTHING to go flawlessly for any character, like it would in real life. But to my surprise, I was drawn in by the unique angle—a retired agent whose past resurfaces in unexpected ways. In a genre often filled with clichés, this season avoids them brilliantly. Jeff delivers a masterful performance, and the rest of the cast is equally impressive. While a couple of moments felt a bit rushed toward the end, I was completely hooked and eagerly awaited the next season like a long-anticipated meeting. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/06/24 Full Review Greg H Good first season, I do agree that Zoe's character is a bit lifeless, and that yes could an old man still be that capable in close combat, however Liam Neeson and others have played a similar role so it doesn't bother me too much.Having said that about Zoe, some of the one on one conversations with her and other pairs are great at peeling away some of the concepts and insights like an onion and I enjoyed these. Speech is short and to the point without monologuing which it would be with these types of characters. Looking towards season 2 now.
